En 1982, a le demande de Fran\u00e7ois Mitterrand, un appel d\u2019offre est lanc\u00e9 initie un concours d’architecture anonyme pour la construction d’un b\u00e2timent unique embl\u00e9matique \u00e0 La D\u00e9fense dans le prolongement de l\u2019axe historique des Champs Elys\u00e9es. C\u2019est un architecte danois, Johan Otto von Spreckelsen, professeur dans sa mati\u00e8re, qui remporta le concours \u00e0 la surprise g\u00e9n\u00e9rale. Sans exp\u00e9rience d\u2019ampleur dans les b\u00e2timents publics, il prend la t\u00eate d\u2019un monumental chantier de plus d\u2019un milliard de francs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Il doit composer avec les changements politiques, les contraintes budg\u00e9taires et faire des compromis contre son gr\u00e9. Les changements de majorit\u00e9 au gouvernement seront pour lui le coup de gr\u00e2ce au point de faire capoter son mariage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Le film est bien entendu largement inspir\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements r\u00e9els. Mais il en fait une interpr\u00e9tation libre, s\u2019amusant des diff\u00e9rences culturelles entre le Danemark et la France et versant dans l\u2019irr\u00e9v\u00e9rence envers les responsables politiques de l\u2019\u00e9poque. Si la profession d\u2019architecte n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 souvent port\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran (the Brutalist<\/em> de Brady Corbet formant une heureuse exception en 2024), je n\u2019ai pas trouv\u00e9 ici une singularit\u00e9 qui m’a s\u00e9duit. Je n\u2019ai pas non plus \u00e9t\u00e9 enthousiasm\u00e9 par la mise en sc\u00e8ne qui m\u2019a plus rappel\u00e9 celle d\u2019un t\u00e9l\u00e9film qu\u2019un film-type de Cannes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n La
