Maria Schneider a 16 ans quand elle est choisie pour devenir l\u2019actrice principale du film de Bernardo Bertolucci, le Dernier Tango \u00e0 Paris<\/em> et servir la r\u00e9plique de Marlon Brando. Le film fait scandale en raison de s\u00e9quences sulfureuses qui lui vaut une condamnation en Italie pour obsc\u00e9nit\u00e9s. Maria est propuls\u00e9e en haut de l\u2019affiche trop vite. Le fardeau de la controverse est lourd \u00e0 porter. Ni les m\u00e9dias ni les gens dans la rue ne l\u2019\u00e9pargnent. Elle sombre dans l\u2019addiction \u00e0 h\u00e9ro\u00efne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Maria<\/em> c\u2019est l\u2019occasion de d\u00e9noncer une certaine p\u00e9riode du cin\u00e9ma d\u2019auteur, qu\u2019on esp\u00e8re r\u00e9volue, qui sacralisait le personnage interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 au d\u00e9pens de la personne qui interpr\u00e8te. Maria d\u00e9clarait apr\u00e8s le tournage qu\u2019elle s\u2019\u00e9tait fait violer deux fois lors du tournage, par le r\u00e9alisateur et par Marlon Brando. Ils s\u2019\u00e9taient organis\u00e9s pour d\u00e9former le sc\u00e9nario (une sc\u00e8ne de sodomie contrainte, avec du beurre) sans informer l\u2019actrice pour produire un r\u00e9sultat plus authentique de sa part, o\u00f9 les pleurs n\u2019\u00e9taient pas feints. En tant que femme, le public lui reprochera m\u00eame d\u2019\u00eatre une victime consentante. Son impresario la met en garde que personne ne voudra d\u2019elle dans un film si elle parle de son traumatisme \u00e0 la presse.
