05.06.2024<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\nLa film se d\u00e9roule en 1978, au Cambodge. Pol Pot, le \u00ab premier fr\u00e8re \u00bb, est au pouvoir depuis trois ans. Son r\u00e9gime despotique contr\u00f4l\u00e9 par les khmers rouges a donn\u00e9 naissance au Kampuch\u00e9a d\u00e9mocratique au prix de plusieurs millions de morts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dans le sc\u00e9nario, le r\u00e9gime a invit\u00e9 trois journalistes fran\u00e7ais pour qu\u2019ils t\u00e9moignent de la \u00ab vraie \u00bb r\u00e9alit\u00e9, celle que les journaux occidentaux ne relatent pas : un reporter, une cameraman et un photographe. Ils sont convaincus de la bonne foi du dictateur parce que l\u2019un d\u2019entre eux a partag\u00e9 les bancs de la Sorbonne avec lui. Malgr\u00e9 leurs bonnes dispositions, les trois comp\u00e8res prennent vite conscience que le parcours impos\u00e9 qu’on donne \u00e0 voir n’est pas le reflet complet de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9. Le photographe est convaincu qu’on leur cache le plus important. Il d\u00e9cide de fausser compagnie \u00e0 ses guides officiels…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Le film alterne des images de fictions et de extraits d’images d’archives. Quand de telles archives n’existent pas, Rithy Pahn reconstitue les sc\u00e8nes avec de la pate \u00e0 modeler. Le r\u00e9alisateur continue ici le devoir de m\u00e9moire qui marque sa filmographie. Son dernier opus n’est pas le plus original, mais il m\u00e9rite d’\u00eatre vu, comme t\u00e9moignage d’un \u00e9pisode funeste de l’Histoire qu’il ne faut jamais oublier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
