La sc\u00e8ne se passe \u00e0 New York, \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1980. La ville de New York \u00e9touffe et br\u00fble \u00e0 la fois, entre l\u2019effervescence artistique et l\u2019ombre grandissante du sida. Jimmy George, figure magn\u00e9tique de la sc\u00e8ne th\u00e9\u00e2trale underground, partage sa vie avec un compagnon d\u2019une douceur rare, attentif \u00e0 chaque souffle qui lui reste. Mais Jimmy sait que le temps lui \u00e9chappe. Le sida, d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e0 un stade avanc\u00e9, a inscrit en lui une \u00e9ch\u00e9ance in\u00e9vitable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jimmy pr\u00e9pare une nouvelle pi\u00e8ce de th\u00e9\u00e2tre. Il r\u00e9p\u00e8te, chante, performe, comme si la sc\u00e8ne pouvait suspendre la mort quelques instants. Dans son immeuble arrive alors un nouveau voisin : Vincent, un beau rouquin myst\u00e9rieux install\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tage inf\u00e9rieur. Tr\u00e8s vite, Vincent se montre fascin\u00e9 par Jimmy, par son aura fatigu\u00e9e mais toujours flamboyante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Entre eux na\u00eet une tension d\u00e9licate, presque suspendue. Jimmy voudrait succomber \u00e0 cette attraction, retrouver l\u2019\u00e9lan du d\u00e9sir, mais il reste prisonnier de la conscience aigu\u00eb de sa propre finitude. Comment s\u2019abandonner \u00e0 une histoire quand le corps lui-m\u00eame annonce d\u00e9j\u00e0 la sortie ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alors Jimmy continue de d\u00e9river dans les nuits gays new-yorkaises, entre clubs, lumi\u00e8res artificielles et rencontres fugaces, comme pour retenir encore un peu la sensation d\u2019exister pleinement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Le film propose de beaux moments mais il laisse aussi l\u2019impression de rester en surface l\u00e0 o\u00f9 il aurait pu bouleverser davantage. Certaines sc\u00e8nes semblent annoncer une intensit\u00e9 \u00e9motionnelle qui n\u2019arrive jamais compl\u00e8tement \u00e0 \u00e9clore. Difficile, en regardant ce portrait d\u2019une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration frapp\u00e9e par le sida, de ne pas penser \u00e0 120 Battements Par Minute<\/em> de Robin Campillo, dont la puissance politique et \u00e9motionnelle emportait tout sur son passage.
