Gleb, chef d\u2019entreprise prosp\u00e8re, vit avec sa femme Galina et leur fils Serioja dans une ville de province. Leur vie bourgeoise, en apparence solide et bien install\u00e9e, vacille avec l\u2019invasion de l\u2019Ukraine par la Russie. La guerre, d\u2019abord lointaine, finit par s\u2019immiscer dans leur quotidien : certains proches \u00e9migrent vers l\u2019Occident, d\u2019autres sont mobilis\u00e9s, et l\u2019\u00c9tat impose des quotas de conscrits aux entreprises. Pour Gleb, ces quotas deviennent un cauchemar : ses employ\u00e9s sont r\u00e9quisitionn\u00e9s les uns apr\u00e8s les autres, sa soci\u00e9t\u00e9 se vide de sa main-d\u2019\u0153uvre, et tout ce qu\u2019il a construit menace de s\u2019effondrer. Il se retrouve pris dans un syst\u00e8me qu\u2019il ne contr\u00f4le plus, o\u00f9 sa position de patron ne p\u00e8se plus grand-chose face \u00e0 la machine \u00e9tatique et \u00e0 la logique de guerre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sur ce fond de crise g\u00e9opolitique et \u00e9conomique, Zviaguintsev greffe une crise intime : Gleb d\u00e9couvre que Galina le trompe. Ce choc agit comme un d\u00e9clencheur. Ses frustrations accumul\u00e9es \u2013 sociales, professionnelles, affectives \u2013 se cristallisent en une violence de plus en plus incontr\u00f4lable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le film tisse alors un parall\u00e8le entre l\u2019embrasement du pays et l\u2019implosion de cet homme, qui s&rsquo;est construit une identit\u00e9 sur le contr\u00f4le et la domination, mais reste profond\u00e9ment fragile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La narration adopte un rythme lent, pos\u00e9, presque clinique. Zviaguintsev prend le temps de s\u2019attarder sur les silences, les regards, les gestes banals du quotidien. Cette lenteur n\u2019est pas un d\u00e9faut en soi ; elle sert \u00e0 d\u00e9plier avec minutie la psychologie de personnages complexes, souvent ambigus, rarement sympathiques. Il ne cherche pas \u00e0 susciter la compassion facile : Gleb, Galina et les autres ne sont ni des victimes irr\u00e9prochables ni des bourreaux univoques. Ils sont travers\u00e9s par des contradictions, souvent aveugles \u00e0 leur propre responsabilit\u00e9. L\u2019aspect moral du r\u00e9cit est lui aussi trouble. Le film ne propose pas de message rassurant ni de lecture simple. Il n\u2019y a pas vraiment de figure \u00ab positive \u00bb \u00e0 laquelle se raccrocher, pas de h\u00e9ros. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On comprend ais\u00e9ment, dans ces conditions, pourquoi&nbsp;<em>Minotaure<\/em>&nbsp;a trouv\u00e9 sa place en s\u00e9lection officielle \u00e0 Cannes : la mise en sc\u00e8ne est ma\u00eetris\u00e9e, l\u2019articulation entre intime et politique est riche. Pour autant, malgr\u00e9 toutes ces qualit\u00e9s, la proposition ne m\u2019a pas totalement emport\u00e9. La lenteur, la froideur assum\u00e9e de la mise en sc\u00e8ne, la duret\u00e9 des personnages et l\u2019absence de v\u00e9ritable respiration \u00e9motionnelle cr\u00e9ent une distance.
